to the future me in 2029

Dear Future Me,

I hope this letter finds you well and content. Right now, I’m writing to you from my living room in Bangi, feeling a bit bored because my pen pals haven’t replied to my letters. They’re probably caught up with their personal time over the weekend. At the moment, I’m not sure what to do—I’m feeling a bit drowsy after walking 3k steps this evening with my husband at the park we rarely visit. The place is often jammed with traffic, and my husband dislikes driving there, but I really enjoy going because it has a vibe I’ve always wanted.

I wonder where you are and what life looks like for you now. Have you achieved everything you hoped for? I imagine you’ve grown in so many ways, and I’m curious about how you’ve changed. What has stayed the same, and what has surprised you on your journey?

Right now, I’m just going with the flow in my life. It’s comfortable, and I’m hesitant to step out of my comfort zone. My relationship with my husband is great for now, and I hope it stays that way for the rest of our lives. I really want to have kids, and I’m determined to save money because my account keeps depleting due to various trials in life, especially financial struggles with family. I also want to lose weight, as I’m currently at 63 kg, and I feel like I’m overweight. I hope that when you read this, you’ll be proud of the progress I’ve made, even if it doesn’t always feel that way right now.

I’d love to know what you’ve learned by now. Are there things you wish I had done differently, or things I should start thinking about?

Take care of yourself. I’m sure you’ve accomplished amazing things by now. I’m excited for the future, even though it feels a little uncertain at times.

Sincerely,
Schuera
